Yes, I am aware I did not use the proper salutation in this. I cannot bring myself to refer to this man as honorable at this time.
Lieutenant Governor Patrick,
It was nice to see that someone at an executive level in our state finally took a stand against the federal government in education; however, it seems that our priorities are entirely out of order.
Why have Governor Abbott, Attorney General Paxton, SBOE Chair Bahorich, Commissioner Morath, a host of our legislators and you turned your heads and allowed the national standards to be forced into our Texas TEKS?
How can we show the federal government that we do not want them telling our Texas school kids where they can congregate for break time when we allow the Feds to control their academic learning? How can we say we don’t want them dictating bathroom privileges when we allow them to invade our classrooms with social/emotional learning, data mining/tracking and indoctrination at every level, including social justice issues and religion? How can we tell them to stay out of the most personal aspect of our kids’ days when we allow them to tell our kids what they can eat to nourish their bodies or that they must go to pre-k?
It seems to me this was a timely issue that allowed you the opportunity to grand stand just in time for the state party convention, which is irony in itself, given that the Ed Commissioner just appointed four Democrat activists to his deputy commissioner posts.
What is really going on in Texas? It seems protecting the tenth amendment rights of our state and the sovereignty of our people has become nothing more than a political joke.
When will you and the others take a real stand on getting the Feds out of our classrooms?
I look forward to hearing from you.
